Time to ring the trusty guild warning bell.

^why does it matter? The scam would already be done.^

It matters because that means there are larger matters at hand than just the icons.

Just icons means a visual glitch. A text glitch means a bug in the actual trade system.

To me it showed just 1 traded, but I don't know about the person I traded with didn't think to ask him. I'm thinking it did only say 1, but I'm not sure, it might not have.

Wow, most serious bug ever? It suprises me that I didn't get a rollback.

Too bad I didn't know, I'd actually use this one

It seems they updated it but I haven't tried it out.

From GW.com:
Update - Monday February 19

* Fixed a bug that sometimes caused trade offers to be displayed incorrectly.

Suggesting a rollback is ridiculous. Only a small percentage of GW gamers can even afford ectos and such so only a small percentage of players were affected in a significant way by this scam. I feel bad for the people who got scammed. I can't stand scammers but rolling back will affect too many people unnecessarily. Hopefully the scammers got a perma ban for this.

only small percentage can afford ecto's , wtf is that your defense? ppl say no roll back cause of event. u telling me no one has 10k in there storage ? there is no difference from this than there is from rune trader while back ago, except ppl got screwed from this from other ppl. we had to roll back cause ecconomy was gonna be messed up. like it matters if everyone in game had 100 sup vig. but now that ppl bust there ass to get what ever to actually have money in game for need to sell last weapon to finish getting FoW armor and he gets scmmed by game problem its ok? if this was a GvG or PvP flitch we would not have this discussion there would have been a rollback alrdy, but since only a "couple " people got hammered by scam we should just tell em , hey nice job sucker glad u finally got something worth a damn o and by the way hahaha u r still broke!

ontopic: horrible bug, horrible people who have used the bug to become "rich" ... NERF scammers please

Again, do you have any idea what a rollback over an event like the one we just had would do to the game? Half the playerbase would quit.

I think the main reason you couldnt roll back would be because anet doesnt know when this problem occured. It was a glitch that probably happened during the evnt update but no one knows when it was discovered, they would have to roll back the event completly to be sure and they cant do that.

First of all, learn some decent english, learn to type and break up the goddamn paragraph. I had a hell of a time reading that garbage.

You just dont get it. Only a very very small percentage of people got scammed for a significant amount of gold. And you think a rollback that affects EVERYONE and screws most of the people who were not scammed in any way is a good idea?

Umm why would any PVP "flitch" require any sort of rollback? This has never happend. Did you even think before you posted?

Yes it sucks that you got scammed. But now you're just being a selfish *censored* to want a rollback when only a relative handful of players got scammed by the exploit of this bug.

Revert to a backed up copy of the data.

Judging from when the glitch occured, if they did a rollback because of it, it would erase everything that happened during the event.

First, sorry you got scammed.

Second, you are confusing something in your post. When someone mentions rollback, they usually mean database rollback. That is nearly impossible to do in a MMORPG. Now, they can rollback code by reverting to a previous version, using version control.

Rolling back code is much easier than rolling back a database. I work for a fortune 500 company that routinely does disaster recovery exercises on transactional databases, and rolling back databases is scary difficult to do and fraught with peril. We often rollback code to previous versions, but I can't every recall us actually implementing a disaster recovery plan, due to the cost and the probability of failure.

Anet rolling back code would not solve your problem. The only thing you could do is to provide proof of your trade. Give anet the time / date / name, and they can possibly trace the transaction. Long shot, but might be worth trying.

Best of luck

I don't think they would do a rollback because alot of people lost money this way, it wasn't lost because of stupidity like most scams, but I just don't see them rolling back the entire game (especially through an event). I think they should punish those who scammed this way, though.
